SCT-013-030 Non-Invasive AC Current Sensor Clamp Sensor 30A
₹354.00 incl. GST (₹300.00 + GST)
Product Description
The SCT-013-030 Non-Invasive AC Current Sensor is a split-core Current Transformer (CT) designed to measure AC current up to 30 A without cutting, stripping, or disconnecting the existing electrical wire. The clamp-style design allows the sensor to be easily installed around a single AC conductor for convenient current monitoring.
When placed around a current-carrying AC conductor, the sensor generates a small AC output proportional to the current flowing through the conductor. The built-in sampling resistor provides a voltage output, making the sensor suitable for connection to compatible measurement circuits, energy monitoring systems, and microcontrollers.
The SCT-013-030 features a standard 3.5 mm output plug, making it convenient to connect to suitable monitoring and data-acquisition systems. Its non-invasive construction and UL94-V0 flame-retardant properties make it suitable for applications such as AC motor monitoring, lighting systems, air compressors, energy monitoring, and over-current protection.

Working Principle
The SCT-013-030 operates as a Current Transformer (CT). When the sensor is clamped around a current-carrying AC conductor, the alternating magnetic field produced by the current induces a proportional electrical signal in the sensor.
The built-in sampling resistor converts the sensor’s current output into a corresponding voltage signal. This voltage can then be measured by a suitable ADC, energy meter, monitoring circuit, or microcontroller after appropriate signal conditioning.
Because the sensor is installed around the conductor rather than electrically connected in series, it provides a non-invasive method of AC current measurement.
Design and Construction
The sensor features a split-core clamp structure that can be opened and placed around an existing AC conductor. This makes it suitable for retrofit installations and electrical monitoring applications where disconnecting the load wire is inconvenient.
The sensor cable terminates in a 3.5 mm jack, providing a convenient connection to compatible measurement equipment.

Product Disclaimer
The SCT-013-030 is intended for AC current measurement only and should not be used for measuring DC current. A suitable burden/sampling and signal-conditioning arrangement should be used according to the application.
Do not connect the sensor output directly to a microcontroller without verifying the output characteristics and ensuring that the input voltage remains within the controller’s safe limits.
Always install the sensor around one conductor only for proper current measurement. Clamping around both live and neutral conductors together can cause the magnetic fields to cancel and result in an incorrect reading.
