Infrared Obstacle Avoidance TSOP Sensor Module
₹65.00 excl GST
The Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module provides a cost-effective solution for avoidance detection in robotics and various electronic applications.
The module comes pre-assembled, featuring four pins: +5 volts, GND, output, and EN (Enable). The output is active LOW and includes an onboard status LED, making it easy to interface directly with Arduino or other microcontrollers. It is also compatible with the Raspberry Pi within a voltage range of 3-6 volts, with Vcc connected to 3 volts.
The “EN” (Enable) pin can disable the module when set to HIGH (Vcc) and enable it when set to LOW (GND). The onboard jumper can be left open for external control of enable/disable, but this feature may not be necessary for many applications.
The module includes two potentiometers—one for controlling the operating frequency (focused at 38 kHz) and the other for controlling intensity. The detector is designed for 38 kHz, and the onboard oscillator circuit is based on a 555 timer. While tweaking the potentiometers may slightly improve range, it is recommended to leave them as is for optimal performance.
In testing, the module exhibited a reliable range of around 30-40 cm, depending on the type of material. A clear white surface yielded better results compared to a black or rough surface.
