The Horizon Robotics X3 Pi Development Board is an embedded AI computing platform designed for edge intelligence, robotics, and computer-vision applications. Based on the Horizon Sunrise X3M AI processor, the board provides up to 5 TOPS of equivalent AI computing performance, making it suitable for real-time perception, recognition, and autonomous control.

The system integrates a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU together with a dual-core BPU (Brain Processing Unit) running at up to 1GHz, enabling efficient AI inference at the edge. The X3 Pi supports multiple camera inputs and hardware-accelerated H.264 / H.265 video encoding and decoding, making it ideal for robotics, smart surveillance, and AI vision devices.

The board follows a Raspberry-Pi-compatible mounting layout, making installation and expansion straightforward. It also forms part of the Horizon RDK X3 development platform ecosystem, meaning it shares tooling, SDKs, and AI development support commonly associated with RDK-series devices.

This model is equipped with 4GB LPDDR4 memory, providing more headroom for AI workloads than the 2GB variant.
