The MiCS-5524 Gas Sensor Module is a compact MEMS-based gas sensor designed for detecting carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane, alcohol vapours and other combustible gases. It is commonly used for indoor air quality monitoring and gas-leak detection experiments.
This sensor outputs an analog voltage signal that changes according to the concentration of detected gas. It operates from a 5V DC supply, and the onboard heater element ensures stable sensing performance. The MiCS-5524 is ideal for hobby, learning and research projects using Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi and other microcontrollers.
⚠ This sensor is not suitable for safety-critical applications and cannot identify which gas is detected — it only indicates the presence of one or more gases.
⭐ Gas Sensitivity Range
This sensor can respond to the following gases approximately:
Carbon Monoxide (CO): ~1 to 1000 ppm
Ammonia (NH₃): ~1 to 500 ppm
Ethanol: ~10 to 500 ppm
Hydrogen (H₂): ~1 to 1000 ppm
Methane / Propane / Iso-Butane: ~1000+ ppm
(Calibration recommended for accurate measurement.)
